SHANGHAI WORLD EXPO 2010

From 1st May – 31st October 2010, Shanghai will embody the Expo theme of “Better City, Better Life” as an expected 70 million people converge on the city during the Expo period.

The official Expo 2010 emblem depicting the image of three people – you, me, him/her – holding hands together, is symbolic of China’s goal to promote mankind as one big family that can come together and celebrate at Expo.

This is the occasion for China to bring the world to home and for the world to feel at home in China. By dedicating a 5.28-square-kilometer area at the core of the city to exhibitions, events and forums on the Expo theme “Betty City, Better Life”.

Shanghai hopes to build a powerful and lasting pilot example of sustainable and harmonious urban living.

Over 200 countries and 50 international organizations have confirmed participation in Expo 2010.

Various cultural and artistic performances and amusement activities will be held before and during the Expo. Over the 184 day Expo period, there will be more than 20,000 events at around 35 venues with many international events staged within the Expo site. Throughout Expo, participants will hold national pavilion days and specific weeks will be dedicated to various regions of China.
