In 2008, HELEN WONG'S TOURS is celebrating our 21st Birthday.
It seems like yesterday that Helen Wong's Tours was born from small beginnings in
the suburbs of western Sydney. Even back then, I was confident China would inspire
and excite the Australian market and I was determined that my passion and knowledge
of this unique destination would make it happen.
After 21 years, I have so many fond memories. I will always remember my first visit
to China in the mid 1970's, when China was still a bit mysterious and intriguing
to the outside world. I felt like a pioneer on a journey of discovery to a country
that had not seen many foreigners and was now quietly opening up to the western
world. I can still picture the welcoming shy smiles of the locals, feel the charm
and essence of their culture and reflect on the beauty of the country. Since then,
each year has brought new discoveries and advances in China tourism and I am happy
to say that today my passion has never been stronger.
In 2008 I am proud of our continued success and that my desire to take thousands
of Australians to China has surpassed my greatest expectations. The successes and
achievements of the past 21 years have been made through hard work, a quality product
and a strong supportive team in Australia and China. I am a hands on operator and
believe that this has helped write our success story. From the basic draft of each
programme to the final delivery, I design and guarantee every aspect of our tour
operations.
Our coming of age strengthens our commitment as THE China Specialist and I am proud
that after 21 years we are still 100% Australian owned and operated.
I feel it is very important to listen to feedback from our clients. With this in
mind, there are not a lot of changes to our 2008/09 China programme. Our superb

into this magical land and its fascinating way of life. The introduction of our
