Fly to Lijiang and spend three nights at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Liajang. The old city is a “living museum” with ornately carved buildings and a maze of cobbled streets crowded with Naxi women in traditional dress. Visit the Black Dragon Pool Park set against the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Visit Yufeng Lamasery and admire the 500-year-old camellia tree. Take a chairlift up Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and walk through spruce forests that thrive at a height of 3,000 metres. Enjoy a spectacular dance and song performance by local minority nationalities.
Drive to the First Bend of the Yangtze River continuing onto Tiger Leaping Gorge and Zhongdian to spend three nights at the Tibetan-style Gyalthang Dzong Hotel.
Visit the 300-year-old Gadan Songzalin Monastery, built by the 5th Dalai Lama and styled after Potala Palace in Lhasa. Visit Napa Lake Reserve with its blossoming flowers and grasslands of sheep and cattle. Stop at a typical Tibetan village to visit a local family for a traditional Tibetan dinner and folkloric dance performance.
Full day at Bita Lake Nature Reserve, a tranquil emerald lake 40 metres deep, hidden in dense forest at 3,540 metres. The hat-shaped islet in the centre is charming, while the surrounding forests are home to red footed pheasants, red deer, lynxes and squirrels. Due to Zhongdian's high altitude, flowers only between March-September
Fly back to Kunming and stay overnight.
Transfer to Kunming airport.
