Transfer to the hotel.

Take a cruise along the Li River. See landscapes of craggy mistshrouded peaks, unusual rock formations and fishermen working from their bamboo rafts. Arrive at the village of Yangshuo and browse small stores and street stalls before returning to your hotel by coach.

Fly to Beijing and stay four nights.

Visit Beijing sights that capture the imagination – the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, the splendours of the Forbidden City, plus Tiananmen Square.

See the Pandas at Beijing Zoo and tour the ‘hutongs’ (back alleys) by cycle rickshaw for a behind-the-scenes look at Chinese life at its most traditional. Visit the Silk Market and a cloisonne factory.

Spend a day visiting the Sacred Way, the Exhibition Hall of the Ming Tombs and the Great Wall, one of the world’s greatest wonders. Enjoy a Peking Duck dinner and a performance of ‘The Legend of Kung Fu’.
