Visit the three towering pagodas of San Ta Si then wander the cobblestone streets at the colourful markets at nearby Xizhou. See traditional ‘Bai’ architectural style houses and enjoy a ‘Bai Flavour’ lunch and local dance performance. This afternoon continue onto the exquisitely preserved town of Zhoucheng with its charming courtyard homes and laneways.
Transfer to Lijiang where you will spend three nights at the Crown Plaza Hotel. Located high among dramatic mountain scenery and near the Tibet border, it is the centre of the Naxi minority people. Visit the Black Dragon Pool Park.
See the 500 year old Camellia Tree when you visit the Yufeng Lamasery. Take a chairlift up the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and enjoy a walk through the spruce forests. This evening, watch a performance of dance and song by the local minority nationalities.
Take a scenic drive to the First Bend of the Yangtze River and visit one of the deepest gorges, Tiger Leaping Gorge.
Fly back to Kunming and stay one night at the Grand Park Hotel.
